The IVF Medical Directors Special Interest Group (IVFMD) is comprised of one Medical Director from each of the IVF Clinics or programs in Canada. A recent member of the CFAS SIG's, this group deals with common issues that confront all ART facilities including medical, financial, and ethical.
In addition the IVFMD has and continues to work with Health Canada and the newly established Assisted Reproductive Technologies Agency to establish a dialogue which will lead to regulations that will insure the health and safety of couples undergoing assisted human reproduction as well as the offspring born as a result of these treatments.

A Canadian IVF Registry (CARTR), in place for several years as a result of the buy-in by the IVFMD, provides national aggregate data for all IVF/ICSI treatments performed including not only numbers of cases performed, but also Clinical Pregnancy and Live Birth Rates (by age). These and other data retrieved from CARTR are published annually.

The IVFMD is committed to providing high quality, safe and effective ART's to Canadian couples who are experiencing difficulty in conceiving.
