I have worked in the field of Assisted Reproductive Technologies for the past fifteen years in Canada, Europe, and South America, both academically as a Special Graduate Faculty at the Department of Biomedical Sciences at the University of Guelph, and clinically as a Lab Director and Senior Clinical Embryologist. I have completed a Bachelor of Science Degree at the University of Guelph Canada, and then obtained a Master's degree in BioMedicine at Lund University in Sweden. I returned to Canada and completed a Doctorate degree at the Department of Reproductive Biology and Development at the University of Guelph (thesis topic: Anti-Mullerian Hormone as a Marker of Oocyte Quantity and Developmental Potential). I have furthered my clinical embryology training at the Ovumia Clinic in Tampere, Finland, IVI Clinic in Valencia, Spain, Origio Headquarters in Copenhagen, Denmark, Extend Fertility in New York, USA and at the Clinique OVO in Montreal, Canada. My academic background has provided me with a strong scientific foundation, while my clinical experience has given me an extensive understanding of patient concerns and treatment, as well as lab management. My guiding philosophy is to foster a collaborative, inclusive, patient-centered environment, incorporating state-of-the-art reproductive research and technologies. I strive to build strong professional relationships among team members, patients, and the wider scientific community.

Dr. Ari Baratz is a dedicated Reproductive Endocrinologist and Infertility Specialist with over 20 years of clinical and academic experience committed to advancing women’s reproductive health. He is a faculty member in the Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology at the University of Toronto and a senior clinician at CReATe Fertility Centre and Women’s College Hospital. His expertise encompasses advanced assisted reproductive technologies (ART), minimally invasive surgery, third-party reproduction, and reproductive telemedicine, all aimed at expanding equitable access to fertility care.  Dr. Baratz’s professional mission focuses on providing compassionate, evidence-based, patient-centered fertility services while mentoring the next generation of clinicians and scientists. He has been instrumental in developing innovative approaches to fertility care that incorporate psychosocial, ethical, and medical considerations, including expanding third-party reproduction and reproductive telemedicine to improve inclusivity and access across Canada.  Beyond clinical practice, Dr. Baratz is actively involved in education and leadership. He contributed to designing surgical and reproductive medicine curricula and has received multiple teaching awards, including the 2024 Teaching Excellence Award from the University of Toronto. His scholarly contributions include peer-reviewed publications on embryo selection, reproductive genetics, and hysteroscopic interventions, significantly shaping evidence-based practices in Canada and internationally. Additionally, he serves as President of Fertility Matters Canada and Chair of the Ontario Medical Association’s Reproductive Biology Section, advocating for equitable fertility services and reproductive rights. His influence extends globally through presentations and leadership roles at major conferences, fostering international collaboration and innovation in reproductive medicine.

Dr. Claire Jones is an Associate Professor in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology and Program Director for the Gynaecologic Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility Residency at the University of Toronto. She completed her Bachelor of Science and Medical Degree at the University of Western Ontario, followed by residency in Obstetrics and Gynaecology and fellowship in GREI at the University of Toronto. She works at Mount Sinai Fertility in Toronto where she enjoys training future OBGYN’s and GREI specialists. Dr. Jones’ main clinical and research interests include polycystic ovarian syndrome, IVF optimization, resource stewardship, and medical education. She is the head of leadership education in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology at the University of Toronto and leads the annual update of the CFAS Choosing Wisely Canada’s List of Recommendations on resource stewardship in fertility and andrology.  Dr. Jones strives to provide compassionate evidence-based care that empowers patients to make educated decisions about their fertility and improve the delivery of fertility care through research, education and leadership.

Dr. Crystal Chan is the Scientific Director and a physician partner at Markham Fertility Centre. She is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology (OB/GYN) and the Department of Lab Medicine and Pathology (LMP) at the University of Toronto. Dr. Chan is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons and Physicians of Canada, with dual specialization in OB/GYN and Gynecologic Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility (GREI). After obtaining her Medical Degree and Residency at the University of Toronto, Dr. Chan completed a Fellowship in GREI at Mount Sinai Hospital. She then completed a Visiting Scholarship at the Center for Reproductive Sciences at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF). She was a full-time academic Clinician Investigator at Mt Sinai Hospital prior to joining Markham Fertility Centre. Her clinical areas of interest are recurrent implantation failure, endometrial receptivity, and preimplantation genetic testing. She has interest and expertise in leadership, governance, and guideline development.

Born and raised in London Ontario, I pursued an undergraduate degree in commerce at Queen's University. I attended both medical school and residency at Western University in London and moved to Ottawa for my fellowship in REI at the University of Ottawa and the Ottawa Fertility Centre. In 2016 I moved to Edmonton to join the newly opened Pacific Centre for Reproductive Medicine and join as faculty at the University of Alberta. I now serve as Medical Director of Third-Party Reproduction and am appointed as an Associate Clinical Professor serving as education coordinator for REI. My research interests include health economics and decision modelling, topics on which I have published peer-reviewed articles and have given several presentations. I have served on several boards and governing councils of different organizations including most recently one term on the CFAS board, serving on its executive team as Treasurer. In residency I served two years as resident councillor of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada and four years on the board of directors of the Professional Association of Residents of Ontario as Treasurer and then Vice President. In my third year of medical school, I served as student society President. Outside of work I enjoy running, I perform as a percussionist in two concert bands and have participated in musical theatre and choral ensembles. My partner and I enjoy exploring our beautiful country and traveling the world, hosting our family and friends and hanging out with our goldendoodle in the backyard.

Dr. Haidar Mahmoud is a fertility specialist and Medical Director of Nahal Fertility in Toronto, with over twenty-five years of experience spanning reproductive medicine, obstetrics and gynaecology, hospital leadership, medical regulation, and academic teaching. He has practised assisted reproductive technology for over two decades, at IVF Canada since 2004 and at Anova Fertility and Reproductive Health from 2021 to 2025 and was named one of Toronto's Top Doctors in 2023.  Dr. Mahmoud brings substantial board-level governance experience. From 2015 to 2021, he served as an elected Council Member of the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO), setting strategic direction, developing policy, and overseeing the performance of Canada's largest medical regulator. He has served continuously since 2015 on the CPSO’s Inquiries, Complaints and Reports Committee, and earlier as a peer Assessor with its Quality Assurance Program (2005–2014). As Chief of Obstetrics at The Scarborough Hospital (2004–2010), he led departmental strategy and planning, and served on the hospital's Board of Directors and CEO Selection Committee.  A Lecturer in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology at the University of Toronto from 2010 to 2021, Dr. Mahmoud twice received the Chair’s Award for Excellence in Integrated Undergraduate Education (2016, 2018). He holds a Master’s Certificate in Quality Improvement and Patient Care from the University of Toronto and is a member of the European Society of Human Reproduction and the American Society for Reproductive Medicine.

Dr. Justin Tan is a board-certified reproductive endocrinologist at CReATe Fertility Centre with multidisciplinary training in engineering, public health, and reproductive endocrinology. He earned his engineering degree from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology followed by a Master’s in Public Health & Biostatistics from the University of Cambridge. He obtained his medical degree from McGill University, completed residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of British Columbia, and subspecialty fellowship training in Reproductive Endocrinology & Infertility at the University of Toronto.  Dr. Tan brings a strong foundation in research, entrepreneurship, and systems innovation to reproductive medicine. He previously co-founded Jintronix Inc., a medical-technology company that developed clinically validated motion-capture and virtual-reality rehabilitation tools adopted by major rehabilitation hospitals. This experience in product development, clinical partnerships, and knowledge translation informs his current work in fertility medicine, where he aims to lead initiatives that leverage technology, workflow design, and data-driven systems to improve clinical outcomes while optimizing safety, efficiency, and patient experience.  Dr. Tan is also committed to research, academic mentorship, and improving access to fertility care. He has authored more than 30 scientific publications, contributed to seven book chapters, and presented at more than 20 national and international conferences, including ASRM, ESHRE, CFAS. He is actively involved in medical education and mentorship through clinical, didactic, and surgical teaching at the University of Toronto and Sunnybrook Hospital. His clinical work also supports an active third-party practice as he is passionate about advancing inclusive family-building opportunities for 2SLGBTQIA+ communities.

Dr. Katherine Péloquin, PhD, is a clinical psychologist, Full Professor in the Department of Psychology at the Université de Montréal, and a nationally recognized researcher whose work focuses on the psychosocial dimensions of infertility and medically assisted reproduction. Her research explores how couple relationships, mental health, and sexual well-being shape the experiences of individuals and couples navigating fertility treatment, with the goal of improving patient care and informing clinical practice. Dr. Péloquin leads a multidisciplinary research program supported by provincial and federal funding that brings together psychologists, physicians, nurses, embryologists, social workers, and patient partners to address some of the most pressing psychosocial challenges in fertility care. Through close collaborations with fertility clinics across Canada, her team develops and evaluates evidence-based interventions that support patients, strengthen healthcare teams, and facilitate the translation of research into everyday practice. Committed to advancing fertility care beyond research, Dr. Péloquin serves as Vice-Chair of the Board of Directors of Centre ESPER, a non-profit organization dedicated to improving access to psychosocial services for individuals and families navigating infertility and assisted reproduction. She also co-organized the 2024 and 2026 Summer Institute on Infertility and Assisted Reproduction, an interdisciplinary initiative designed to foster collaboration, mentorship, and knowledge exchange among clinicians, researchers, trainees, and community partners. Dr. Péloquin previously served as President of the Canadian Sex Research Forum, where she helped strengthen governance, expand partnerships, and promote bilingualism and inclusion. Passionate about collaboration, she is dedicated to building bridges between research, clinical practice, and community organizations to advance compassionate, equitable, and evidence-informed fertility care for all Canadians.

I was born in and grew up in Montreal. I graduated from the State University of New York at Stony Brook in medicine and then completed my residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Long Island College Hospital campus of the State University of New York at Down State. I completed a fellowship in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility at the University of California in San Diego. I am a member of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at McGill University. Before joining McGill University, I was on faculty at Stanford University in California and Washington University in St Louis.  I am fluent in both French and English.  I am an academic physician having published several hundred peer-reviewed articles. I have presented internationally 200 + times. I am the editor in chief of the journal Clinical and Experimental Obstetrics and Gynecology. I have been or am currently on the editorial board of 11 other journals in our field. I have been an editor of four textbooks in infertility medicine and written more than 60 chapters on infertility care.  I have presented at the CFAS annual and regional meetings, and I last presented what was a very funny debate at the CFAS meeting in 2025 in Quebec City, I would consider it a true honor to serve you as a board member. I am married and I am the father of 5 children. In my free time, I enjoy world travel, collecting art and learning about history.

Mila Arsenijevic, MSW, RSW, is the Founder and Clinical Director of Toronto Therapy Practice, a multidisciplinary mental health practice dedicated to reproductive and perinatal mental health. She has more than 14 years of clinical experience supporting individuals and couples navigating infertility, IVF, donor conception, pregnancy loss, postpartum, and the transition to parenthood. Prior to founding Toronto Therapy Practice, Mila worked at Mount Sinai Hospital, providing specialized mental health care within high-risk obstetrics, pregnancy loss, neonatal intensive care, and outpatient perinatal mental health programs. Throughout her career, she has collaborated closely with fertility physicians and interdisciplinary healthcare teams across hospital, fertility clinic, community, and private practice settings. In addition to her clinical work, Mila is an educator, speaker, and clinical leader committed to advancing reproductive mental health through education and interdisciplinary collaboration. She developed and leads a professional training program for therapists specializing in fertility and reproductive mental health, and regularly presents to healthcare professionals, university students, employers, and community organizations on reproductive and perinatal mental health. Recognizing gaps in psychosocial support for individuals pursuing donor conception and surrogacy, Mila developed specialized implications counselling services within her practice to meet these unique clinical needs. Her current work also includes developing educational initiatives to improve workplace awareness and support for individuals navigating infertility and pregnancy loss, extending reproductive mental health education beyond healthcare settings. She leads a multidisciplinary team providing evidence-informed, compassionate care while helping strengthen access to specialized reproductive mental health services across Canada.

Dr. Nigel Pereira, MD, FACOG, ALS/ELS (AAB), is a Clinician–Investigator at Mount Sinai Fertility and an Associate Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Toronto, with a cross‑appointment in the Department of Laboratory Medicine and Pathobiology. A diplomate of the American Board of Obstetrics & Gynecology (ABOG) with ABOG subspecialty certification in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility, Dr. Pereira completed his fellowship training at Weill Cornell Medicine’s Center for Reproductive Medicine. He also holds additional qualifications in embryology and andrology from the American Association of Bioanalysts.

Clinically, he provides personalized fertility care spanning reproductive surgery, laboratory medicine, complex IVF procedures, and reproductive imaging. Before joining Mount Sinai Fertility, he was repeatedly featured on New York’s Super Doctors and Rising Stars lists (since 2019) and has been named among Toronto’s Top doctors (since 2024).

Dr. Pereira’s research portfolio includes more than 130 research manuscripts, 100 abstracts, and 10 book chapters, earning him accolades from international societies. He is a peer reviewer for leading journals, was named a Fertility and Sterility Star Reviewer in 2021 and 2025, and received the 2026 Journal of Obstetrics and Gynaecology Canada Editor’s Award. He is an member of the Imaging and Reproductive Surgery SIG, Canadian Fertility and Andrology Society (CFAS), and Clinical Gynecology Committee, Society of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists of Canada (SOGC).

Dr. Pereira is seeking a position on CFAS’s Board of Directors to apply his academic leadership, research track record, and commitment to education in advancing the CFAS mission.

Dr. Paul Chang was born in Taipei, Taiwan. His family immigrated to Richardson, Texas when he was 8 years old and later to Montreal, Quebec when he was 12 years old. For his junior and high school education, he attended Bishop College School followed by Upper Canada College. He completed his BSc degree and undergraduate medical studies at the University of Toronto. His residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology was at the University of Western Ontario. In 2008, he completed a Royal College Fellowship in Gynecologic Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility (and Minimally Invasive Surgery) at the University of Western Ontario. During his training, Dr. Chang received several honours, including the best of four research papers at the SOGC Annual Meeting in 2005. In addition, Dr. Chang has presented his research at national medical meetings and has authored a range of articles for peer-reviewed publication on topics such as endometriosis, endometrial ablation, onco-fertility preservation, and nutritional supplements for fertility promotion. Dr. Chang was the President of the Canadian Fertility and Andrology Society in 2024-2025. He is an adjunct clinician and lecturer at the University of Toronto and an assistant clinical professor at the Toronto Metropolitan University where he is involved in various aspects of medical education. In addition to providing excellent care based on scientific evidence, honesty, compassion, and an individual's circumstance, Dr. Chang enjoys meeting and teaching future medical professionals. Dr. Chang speaks fluent Mandarin Chinese.

Dr. Rhonda Zwingerman completed medical school at Queen’s University, residency in OB/GYN at the University of Alberta, and her Masters of Health Services Research and GREI Fellowship at the University of Toronto. She is the co-founder and Chief Medical Offi cer of Twig Fertility, with IVF centres in Toronto and Vancouver. She is deeply engaged in shaping how fertility care evolves across Canada. Since launching Twig in 2021, she has focused on building a model that combines clinical excellence, an exceptional patient experience, and meaningful innovations in fertility care. An avid supporter of the performing arts, she served eight years on the board of The Musical Stage Company, Canada's leading and largest non-profit dedicated to musical theatre.
