 ce SIG - Ethics & Law SIG 'Current Challenges Facing ART in Canada' on 
 Wednesday, November 9th from 3:00 to 4:00 pm EST on the Zoom Webinar pla
 tform, with speaker:\nDr. Arthur Leader is Emeritus Professor, Faculty o
 f Medicine, University of Ottawa. Following fellowships in Sweden, he jo
 ined Dr. Taylor in 1981 to establish the IVF program at the University o
 f Calgary. In 1988, Drs. Claman, Leveille, and Leader opened the IVF cli
 nic at the University of Ottawa. He was a founding partner of the Ottawa
  Fertility Centre. Dr. Leader was, for many years the CPSO assessor of I
 VF physicians and clinics in Ontario. He was a member of Ontario’s exp
 ert panel on infertility and adoption and a founding member of Conceivab
 le Dreams.\n\n \n\nDr. Arthur Leader has been involved in many aspects 
 of research throughout his career as a clinical investigator. He has als
 o served on CIHR grant review panels, the Stem Cell Oversight Committee 
 and CFAS Research Grants committee. He has acted as a consultant to indu
 stry, federal and provincial agencies as well as Accreditation Canada, t
 he Canadian Standards Association and the Centre of Genomics and Policy 
 (McGill University). He is an advocate for health policies that promote 
 the quality and safety of and access to assisted human reproduction for 
 Canadians.\n\nDrawing on his long career in ART in Canada, Dr. Art Leade
 r will explore how we got to where we are in ART practice, what we can d
 o better, and why we need a national framework for research, policy, and
  oversight to help get us there. \n\n----------------------------------
