Job Description / Duties

ReproMed Ltd. is looking for an experienced individual to be responsible for the operation of all aspects of the Andrology Laboratory and Sperm Bank unit. The candidate must have at least 5 years of experience in an Assisted Reproduction Laboratory or Andrology Laboratory.
What Your Core Responsibilities Will Be:
• Directs and assists laboratory personnel in performing laboratory services in accordance with Health Canada guidelines, regulations, laws.
• Responsible for Laboratory Quality Control & Assurance and assist, as required, in maintaining laboratory operations in conformity with existing regulations, licenses, or existing laws.
• Supervise andrology & sperm bank personnel.
• Receive human blood and sperm samples.
• Instruct and train personnel in laboratory procedures.
• Maintains laboratory & sperm bank SOP manual, making and documenting all appropriate changes.
• Conduct blood and sperm analyses according to WHO standards or best practices.
• Administer Donor recruitment program and on-going maintenance and growth
• Perform routine preventative maintenance on assigned instruments and equipment according to established schedule and procedure.
• Maintain and oversee clinical supplies inventory by checking stock to determine inventory; level; anticipating needed supplies; placing and expediting orders for supplies.
• Assists in staff recruiting, interviewing, orientating and training in cooperation with Human Resources.
• Assists in developing the yearly budget for the department, and monitors monthly expenses.
• Verify instrument functioning by checking/calibrating specific lab instruments and documents data.
• Responsible for laboratory certification, accreditation, and inspections of responsible authorities.
• Liaison with sperm bank processors.
• Manage inventory of donor sperm for distribution.
• Participate in research and innovative techniques.
Who Will I be Working With:
In collaboration with the Medical Director and other Senior Management, this role interacts closely with the patients in delivering services on a daily basis. In addition, internal contacts include IVF Director (Embryology Team), and Nursing Team.

Qualifications / Required Skills

• PhD. or Master’s in biology or laboratory science.
• At least five (5) years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Superior interpersonal and communication skills. A strong command of English, both spoken and written.

• Canadian resident or citizen

Salary: 95,000 to 100,000 + Bonus
