Job Description / Duties

• Provide information to physicians regarding lab aspects of IVF treatment
• Practice safe procedures in handling human gametes and embryos
• Practice aseptic techniques and handle infectious samples (HepB, HepC and HIV)
• Maintain a clean and functional laboratory
• Perform quality control and quality assurance tests
• Ensure proper maintenance of equipment
• Prepare detailed patients’ IVF laboratory reports
• Monitor and report all adverse events and incidences
• Continue education through literature reviews, conferences and educational courses
• Participate in ART accreditation and Health Canda processes
• Cooperate with research team on various projects
• Maintain CFAS requirements for certification
• Active role in monitoring and improving patient safety as it applies to the duties and responsibilities

Qualifications / Required Skills

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Excellent time management skills and problem-solving skills, ability to multi-task, prioritize work, attention to detail
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a cross functional team, maintain strong working relationships with co-workers and patients
• Proven desire to work in the healthcare field by demonstrating care of others as expressed in various ways including professionalism
• Exercise good judgment and discretion when dealing with confidential and sensitive information

Additional Information

Education and Experience
• Bachelor or Masters degree in biological, or medical technology or ART
• CFAS Embryology Certification preferred
• Previous experience in ART laboratory of at least two or more years preferred
