Job Description / Duties

The successful candidate is expected to have the ability to foster research at fellowship and junior faculty level. Therefore either graduate training (MSc or PhD) in a relevant domain (including KT or QIPS) or an established track record in leading research with external peer-reviewed grant funding is desired.

The University REI Division Head position will accompany a Hospital Staff position in REI at Sinai Health System (SHS).

Applications are encouraged from individuals with clinical excellence and interest across the full spectrum of REI. Applicants wishing to continue a practice in minimal access pelvic surgery will be accommodated at Mount Sinai Hospital, where they will be expected to participate in the gynaecologic on-call rota. The laboratory component for an established clinician-scientist will be accommodated at the Lunenfeld Tanenbaum Research Institute at Mount Sinai Hospital (www.lunenfeld.ca), subject to approval by the LTRI Director. The Institute currently houses four members of the REI Division along with individuals from other facets of reproductive sciences.

Qualifications / Required Skills

The ideal candidate will have attained the rank of Associate or Full Professor and possess RCPSC (or ABOG) certification in REI; and be eligible for licensure to practice medicine in Ontario. Compensation and academic rank will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.

The Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology invites external and internal applications for the position of Head of the Division of Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility (REI) at the University of Toronto. The position will be combined will be combined with the Head of REI, Sinai Health System, Mount Sinai Hospital, located at Mount Sinai Fertility (MSF). The effective start date is October 1, 2019, or shortly thereafter.

The Division of Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility at the University of Toronto is comprised of 25 subspecialty-trained academic clinicians, clinician investigators, and translational/basic scientists within the Department whose activities are focused on quality improvement in clinical care and/or research associated with female reproductive endocrinology or infertility. The Division hosts the two-year sub-specialty training program in REI, approved by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. Members of the Division operate five independent fertility clinics and a number of disease-specific clinics including a Mature Women’s Health and Menopause clinic.

The Division forms part of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, with over 300 faculty members located in 25 affiliated hospitals across the Greater Toronto Area (GTA, population 6 million).
