The Lead Clinical Embryologist oversees all of the complex technical laboratory procedures within the REI area of assignment, and assumes a lead role supervising, training and evaluation of new ART Laboratory staff, acts as a resource/mentor to the Clinical Embryologists and supports the day to day functioning of the laboratory. The Lead Clinical Embryologist is an assistant to the Lab Scientist.

Rate of Pay: $39.48 per hour - $49.35 per hour

Hours of Work: 37.5 hours per week

Qualifications / Required Skills

Qualifications

Successful completion of a four (4) year Bachelor of Science degree in a related field (e.g. biological science, reproductive biology, animal science)
Master’s of Science Degree preferred
Minimum Five (5) years relevant experience
Completion of the CFAS certification program for Canadian ART Laboratory Professionals preferred
Demonstrated ability to apply Quality Management principles to the work environment and continually strive for improvement
Advanced understanding and knowledgeable in and ensures compliance to research ethics and standards
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Demonstrated experience in training
Demonstrated experience in risk management
Demonstrated commitment to the principles of patient and family centered care
Demonstrated knowledge of and commitment to patient and staff safety
Demonstrated practice and commitment to LHSC’s Mission, Vision and Values
Demonstrated ability to attend work on a regular basis

Additional Information

Immunization Requirements:

Provide vaccination records or proof of immunity against measles, mumps, rubella and varicella (chicken pox), Hepatitis B, Tetanus/ Diphtheria/Polio; Meningitis.
Provide documentation of the Tuberculosis skin testing (two step)
