Job Description / Duties

ReproMed is looking for a Registered Nurse to assist in delivering surgical and clinical activities performed in an infertility clinic. The candidate will collaborate with all team members to achieve operational and patient-focused care objectives within a public and private healthcare system. This role will be of interest to those with experience (or looking to gain experience) in the area of in-vitro fertilization and other infertility solutions to a diverse client base. In addition to joining the nursing team, this role provides the groundwork for advancing into a supervisory role after gaining clinic experience.

What Your Core Responsibilities Will Be:
• Interview new infertility patients and record their medical history.
• Conduct follow-up interviews with infertility patients; educate programs in detail; provide further information and literature packages as required (i.e. counsel patients regarding their diagnosis, treatment, protocol as explained by the physician).
• Keep accurate pregnancy data and records of infertility patients.
• Arrange for prescriptions with pharmacies, on-site dispensing of medications, keeping inventory records according to the mandate of the College of Physician and Surgeon of Ontario.
• OR and diagnostic test bookings.
• Pre, Intra, and Post operative care in In Vitro Fertilization (IVF) related procedures.
• Maintain the utmost confidentiality with respect to all patients.
• Keep an accurate inventory of all medical supplies and submit orders as needed.
• Giving injections and venipuncture.
• Assist the physician and perform artificial inseminations as instructed .
• Communicate with patients via email and phone interaction.

Qualifications / Required Skills

• Superior interpersonal and communication skills. A strong command of English, both spoken and written.
• 3-5 years medical/surgical experience required.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certified
• Current certificate of registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
• BScN.
• Previous in-vitro fertilization clinical experience preferred but not essential.

• Demonstrated pattern of good attendance and work performance.

Additional Information

In collaboration with the Medical Director and Patient Services Team, this role interacts closely with the patients in delivering medical services on a daily basis. In addition, internal contacts include IVF Director (Embryology Team), the Andrology Director (Sperm Bank and Male Fertility Testing), and the Business Administration Team.
