Job Description / Duties

ReproMed Ltd. is looking for an experienced individual to be responsible for Supervising aspects of the Andrology Laboratory and Assisting with Managing the Sperm Bank unit. It is preferred the candidate has experience in an Assisted Reproduction Laboratory or Andrology Laboratory.

• Assists laboratory personnel in performing laboratory services in accordance with Health Canada guidelines, regulations, laws.
• Contributes to Laboratory Quality Control & Assurance and assist, as required, in maintaining laboratory operations in conformity with existing regulations, licenses, or existing laws.
• Supervise andrology & sperm bank personnel.
• Receive human blood and sperm samples.
• Instruct and train personnel in laboratory procedures.
• Assists with development of laboratory & sperm bank SOP.
• Conduct blood and sperm analyses according to WHO standards or best practices.
• Assist with Donor recruitment program and on-going maintenance and growth
• Perform routine preventative maintenance on assigned instruments and equipment according to established schedule and procedure.
• Verify instrument functioning by checking/calibrating specific lab instruments and documents data.
• Responsible for laboratory certification, accreditation, and inspections of responsible authorities.
• Liaison with sperm bank processors.
• Assist in managing inventory of donor sperm for distribution.
• Participate in research and innovative techniques.

Qualifications / Required Skills

• Certification in biological or laboratory science.
• At least five (5) years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Superior interpersonal and communication skills. A strong command of English, both spoken and written.

• Commitment to patient centered care.
• Canadian resident or citizen

Additional Information

In collaboration with the Medical Director and other Senior Management, this role interacts closely with the patients in delivering services on a daily basis. In addition, internal contacts include IVF Director (Embryology Team), and Nursing Team.
