I am very excited to be nominated for a position on the CFAS Board of Directors. Since finishing my GREI Fellowship training at the University of Toronto in 2014, I have been impressed at what the CFAS has been able to achieve from the development of important practice guidelines and exceptional webinars on controversial and new topics, to valuable guidance on practice management during the pandemic. I admire the hard work of the members of the Board of Directors and feel motivated to contribute to the important guidance the CFAS provides to ensure the highest standards of care for patients seeking fertility care across Canada.
I have had the great fortune of being involved with CFAS in the development of the Choosing Wisely Canada list which allowed me the opportunity to meet and collaborate with experts in REI across the country. This experience was very humbling and inspiring as I learned of the different patient experiences and approaches of colleagues across our country. I particularly enjoyed working with the Clinical Practice Guideline Committee in updating this list and look forward to expanding the awareness and value placed on resource stewardship in our field. Working on the CFAS Choosing Wisely list enlightened me on the variable care across Canada and the importance of the CFAS in providing standards, guidance and advocacy work at the national level.
I am a very hard-working, optimistic and motivated person. I am excited for the potential opportunity to be involved at the national level for our society and our patients, and I hopeful that you will consider my contribution to be of value to the CFAS.
