Nursing SIG Webinar: Safety and Effectiveness of Immunization During Pregnancy

Dr. Deshayne Fell, an Associate Professor in the School of Epidemiology and Public Health at the University of Ottawa, a Scientist in the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario Research Institute, and an Adjunct Scientist at ICES. Dr. Fell is a perinatal researcher who works extensively with the provincial birth registry (BORN Ontario) and with linked health administrative data at ICES. Since the 2009 H1N1 influenza pandemic, her primary research focus has been on infection and immunization during pregnancy. She has been a member of two WHO working groups related to immunization during pregnancy and currently leads a province-wide project to evaluate COVID-19 vaccination during pregnancy which is supported by the COVID-19 Immunity Task Force.

 

Dr. Gillian Alton, an epidemiologist with the Better Outcomes Registry and Network (BORN) Ontario. Gillian is a co-investigator working on COVID-19 in pregnancy surveillance and research in Ontario, as well as, evaluating COVID-19 vaccination during pregnancy research which is funded by the COVID-19 Immunity Task Force. 

 

Dr. Eszter Török, a Research Coordinator at the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario Research Institute. She holds a PhD in Public Health and Epidemiology from the University of Copenhagen. Dr. Török moved to Canada in early 2020 and she is currently coordinating a province-wide research project on COVID-19 vaccination during pregnancy which is supported by the COVID-19 Immunity Task Force.
