Job Description / Duties

Job Summary
Reporting to the Lab Director, the Embryologist contributes to the Markham Fertility Centre’s reputation as a Centre of Excellence for reproductive medicine. The Senior Embryologist provides a full spectrum of basic and advanced embryology procedures including micromanipulation techniques (ICSI, trophectoderm biopsies), vitrification of oocytes and embryos. The Senior embryologist also provides more routine embryology functions including, but not limited to, sperm preparation (PESA, TESE), oocyte assessment and insemination, embryo assessment, assisted hatching, embryo thaw and embryo transfers. Embryologists communicate directly with patients regarding embryo development. All embryologists are expected to participate in other activities to support the efficient and high-quality functioning of the lab including quality control, quality improvement, preventive maintenance, inventory, documentation, emergency and alarm monitoring, and other activities as required. All embryologists are encouraged to participate in relevant research projects and continuous learning to support their professional growth as well as the growth of the clinic.

Qualifications / Required Skills

Qualifications and Experience:
BSc or MSc
Embryology: 3 years (required)
Minimum of three (3) years of continual experience in ICSI.
Preferred experience in trophectoderm biopsy for PGT

Knowledge skills and abilities
Micromanipulation: ICSI and trophectoderm biopsy for PGT
Cryopreservation and warming of oocytes and embryos.
Embryo assessments
Embryo transfer
Sperm preparation for IVF/ICSI treatment
experience working with an EMR system.
highly organized, detail oriented, team player

Additional Information

Job Type: Full-time
Monday- Friday, Weekend and holiday rotation is required.
Work Location: In person.
