Job Description / Duties


Specific Duties-
Performs delegated tests and procedures.
Performs blood tests and IV insertion.
Administers IV medications including sedation during OR.
Prepares the OR and assists with oocyte retrievals and embryo transfers.
Tidy the OR for the next procedure.
Assists with pre and post op care as needed.
Coordinates care with satellite clinics.
Provide injection and calendar teachings to patients.
Prepares personalized calendars and treatment plans.
Prepare files and completeness of test prior to IVF treatment.

Basic Responsibilities:
As with every OriginElle Fertility Clinic staff member, the nursing team must always foster and promote a safe environment for all patients, families, visitors and staff, and in a non-discriminatory climate in which care is delivered in a manner sensitive to socio-cultural diversity.
Maintains a safe and clean working environment.
Ensures quality care to patients and partners.
Demonstrate clinical expertise in all IVF procedures.
Communicates information in verbal or written form to patients, other nurses, physicians and embryologists.
Execute the orders of cycle plans and instructions of the physicians.
Coordinates care with partner clinics, including OriginElle Montreal
Coordinates all infertility diagnostic tests for couples.
Accurate and timely communication of lab results to patients.
Counsels and trains the patients on infertility treatment protocols, medications and infertility procedures.
Maintains clear, concise and timely computerized patient charting, this includes proper note taking, testing updates and document uploading as well as all training, calendars and support documents pertinent to the individual patients file and care.
Prepares patients to undergo egg collections and frozen embryo transfers.
Ensures clear and comprehensive patient education after procedures ie; egg collection or embryo transfer.
Liase with patients both provincially, nationally and internationally
Provides compassion, emotional support and counselling to patients throughout the IVF experience.
Responds to phone and email inquiries of the patients regarding medication, treatment plans and test results.
Aspires to not only attain, but exceed patient service expectations in the practice of all aspects of the nursing responsibilities.
Expedites patient journey from first consultation until healthy livebirth.

Qualifications / Required Skills

Registered Nurse (RN) who has experience in women health, gynecology, operating room or recovery room.
Demonstrate clinical expertise in all IVF procedures with minimum of three (3) years experienced in an IVF center.
Have a valid ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certificate.
Have a license with College of Nurses of Ontario. Preference will be given to a candidate who is registrable with the OIIQ (Quebec).
