Job Description / Duties

Your impact:
- Be part of a dynamic team that is evolving the way fertility care is imagined and delivered
- Help normalize and destigmatize the role of mental and emotional support during the fertility journey
- Deliver a personalized, inclusive and elevated care experience in a collaborative and a multidisciplinary environment
- Find new opportunities for innovations in patient care through curiosity, continuous learning, and critical thinking
- Use exceptional verbal and written communication skills to ensure patients feel heard and supported throughout their fertility journeys

Your responsibilities:
- Provide emotional and psychological support to patients throughout their fertility journey
- Communicate with patients via virtual and in-person appointments, phone, email and EMR portal
- Educate and counsel patients on topics such as infertility and the stress of fertility treatment, managing uncertainty, coping with loss, resilience and persistence with treatment and much more
- Educate and counsel patients considering the use of donor sperm, donor eggs or gestational surrogacy
- Work with the clinical care team to coordinate donor and gestational carrier cycles
- Counsel potential known sperm or egg donors or gestational carriers
- Build an educational library and resource guides for patients focussed around emotional support and mental health
- Participate in content creation for our website and social media channels
- Communicate clearly and in a timely fashion to other members of the clinical care team

Qualifications / Required Skills

- A master’s or doctoral degree from an accredited university in the field of psychology, social work, psychiatric nursing, counseling, or marriage and family therapy or equivalent
- A member in good standing of the College of Psychologists of Ontario, the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers, the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario or equivalent
- Experience, willingness and comfort with providing care to LGBT2SQ individuals and couples
- CFAS, CFAS Counsellor SIG (preferred)
- Computer / EMR / telemedicine experience an asset

Additional Information

Your schedule:
- Part Time
- Monday-Friday, 9:00AM-5:00PM (hours may vary)
