Leadership and Management SIG
The Leadership and Management Special Interest Group became a formal part of the CFAS in September 2006. All IVF clinics and offices deal with business and administrative issues daily. The people hired to oversee these issues are skilled and knowledgeable in their respective fields whether it is accounting, human resources or clinic operations. The goals of the Leadership and Management SIG are to:
- Develop a solid network of business/administrative personnel through membership.
- Develop a business orientated “Needs Assessment” specific to our needs and interests.
- Develop educational “Long Distance Learning” opportunities relating to business and operational aspects.
- Develop good business standards for Canadian IVF programs.
We welcome anyone to our SIG and would love to have you join us, meet us and talk with us!

My passion for healthcare began as a teenager when I volunteered at my local hospital. It was the human connection between providers and patients that captivated me, alongside the innovative science of medicine. This early experience inspired me to pursue a career in medical office administration, beginning with Centennial College's Medical Office Administration program.
While working in this field, I observed the challenges patients face in navigating healthcare systems. This led me to further my education in patient navigation, which I applied in my role as a Patient Care Coordinator, supporting seniors and individuals with mental health concerns. In 2019, I joined Markham Fertility Clinic as a Patient Financial Navigator, where I was introduced to the world of fertility medicine—a field I have since become deeply passionate about.
Throughout my tenure at Markham Fertility Centre, I have held various positions, including Financial Coordinator, Patient Coordinator, and Administrative Lead. Currently, as the Business Operations Manager, I leverage lean business principles to enhance both patient and employee satisfaction, focusing on quality improvement across human resources, business operations, and clinic development. In my role, I collaborate closely with the Leadership team to create impactful strategies that drive continuous growth and innovation.
I am deeply motivated by the resilience and strength of our patients, and this fuels our team's dedication to learning, evolving, and delivering the highest standard of care. I am honored to be part of a community that plays a key role in the advancement of reproductive medicine, helping individuals and families build their futures.
Outside of my professional life, I am committed to my family—my teenage daughters and partner—and I have a strong personal interest in fitness, food, and lifelong learning, all of which I believe are essential to maintaining a balanced and healthy life. I am also furthering my education by pursuing a Business Administration program at McMaster University to continue expanding my skills in leadership and organizational growth.

My journey in the fertility clinic began in 2011, during my first interview Markham Fertility Centre, and I have been passionate about this field ever since. The patients have served over the years hold a special place in my heart, and I am proud to contribute to the exceptional care provided at MFC.
Throughout my years at MFC, I have had the privilege of training and mentoring new employees. One of the most rewarding aspects of my role has been fostering the next generation of professionals, guiding them in understanding how their work directly impacts the patient experience. This process of growth and development is incredibly fulfilling, and I take great pride in helping others realize their potential.
I have worked across various departments within the clinic, gaining a comprehensive understanding of the operations and challenges each team faces. This breadth of experience has shaped my approach to leadership and collaboration, ensuring that I maintain an objective and unbiased perspective, regardless of the department. Currently, as Clinical Manager, I am dedicated to fostering teamwork, enhancing communication, and ensuring that every department's role is valued equally within the larger vision of patient care.
On a personal note, I am a wife and mother of two boys, aged 15 and 11, who keep me on my toes. As they grow older, I find more time to focus on my professional passions, all while balancing family life. I am excited about the opportunity to bring my experience and commitment to leadership and management to the SIG, and I look forward to contributing to the continued success and growth of the community.
