CSIG Counselling Practice Guidelines
Assisted Human Reproduction Counselling Practice Guidelines (Revised September 2023)
The Canadian Fertility and Andrology Society is committed to supporting the highest standards in fertility counselling. The Counselling Special Interest Group (CSIG) has updated the Assisted Human Reproduction Counselling Practice Guidelines to reflect the latest best practices in the field.
These revised guidelines serve as a comprehensive resource for mental health professionals working with individuals and families navigating fertility challenges, assisted reproductive technologies (ART), and third-party reproduction. The document provides essential guidance on fertility counselling, assisted human reproduction counselling, and third-party reproduction counselling, covering key considerations such as ethical, legal, psychological, and medical aspects.
By ensuring consistency in care and upholding professional excellence, these guidelines support fertility counsellors in delivering compassionate and evidence-based services.
The CFAS Board of Directors approved the below document in February 2025.
