Job Description / Duties

As an Embryologist, you will perform all clinical embryological procedures, including ICSI and micromanipulation techniques, associated with the diagnostic and therapeutic treatment services provided by Anova Fertility. You will be supporting the efficient operation and administration of the organization while complying with quality standards and policies. To thrive in this role, you will build and maintain collaborative relationships within and outside the Embryology Department, as various functions rely on each other’s performance. Crucially, you will share the founder’s passion for being the international standard for successful reproductive health and fertility centres and for making the right to family accessible to everyone.

Main Responsibilities
• Independently perform all laboratory procedures associated with diagnostic and therapeutic treatment services, including semen analysis, oocyte and embryo handling, gamete and embryo cryopreservation, clinical intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI)
• Undertake formal witnessing of procedures as required by Human Fertilisation and Embryology Authority to ensure correct identification of patients, gametes and embryos
• Convey details of treatment to patients in clear, concise and understanding manner
• Anticipate and handle day-to-day workload and ensure that preparations and procedures are performed effectively and to highest possible standard
• Maintain liquid nitrogen storage vessels to ensure integrity of stored materials, in accordance with accepted safe practices
• Perform audits of all equipment to ensure this is functioning correctly and within critical parameters
• Work flexibly and perform tasks as and when necessary, including outside of regular business hours and rotate in weekend and statutory holiday schedules
• Collect accurate and complete data as required by Anova and CFAS Authority
• Perform maintenance and cleaning of laboratory equipment
• Assist in Andrology Service as required
• Ensure that records are current, complete, legible and traceable
• Maintain strict confidentiality and security of records and patient information

Qualifications / Required Skills

• Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Reproductive Biology or Genetics
• At least 5 years of experience working in Embryology laboratory
• Proficiency in ICSI required
• Ability to discuss difficult or complex topics with patients and verify that information has been understood
• Willingness to work weekends and statutory holidays required
• Effective analytical and organizational skills
• Track record of punctual attendance and schedule adherence
• Thoroughness and keen attention to detail
• Positive attitude and willingness to improve skills and work as part of laboratory team
