Job Description / Duties

We are looking for an embryologist to join our growing team at GFW, providing high-quality, patient-focused care. The position would be ideal for a Senior Embryologist, but a Junior Embryologist could be considered.

• Daily andrology duties: standard semen analysis, morphology, IUI preparation, IVF/ICSI preparation, sperm cryopreservation.
• Advanced andrology techniques, including DFI via flow cytometry and preparation of surgical sperm retrieval (PESA, TESE) samples.
• Daily embryology duties: oocyte retrieval and assessment, fertilization (IVF and ICSI), embryo culture, embryo and oocyte cryopreservation, embryo biopsy (if applicable).
• Manage cryo inventory and maintenance
• Ensure accuracy with medical records and all documentation.
• Performing all duties according to SOPs. Participate in all required safety training and initiatives, work in a safe manner.
• Participate in continuing education events and maintain learning and training in embryology, fertility, and reproductive biology.
• Participate in laboratory QA/QC program to ensure high quality standards and regulatory compliance.
• Supervision and training of less experienced staff (Sr Embryologist).

Qualifications / Required Skills

• Graduate of a university bachelors (BSc), masters (MSc), or preferably a doctorate program (PhD) in biological science and have a minimum of 1 year of experience in a human fertility clinic.
• Exert self-confidence and interact well within the laboratory team.
• Reliable and flexible individual with strong work ethic and good interpersonal skills.
• Detail-oriented and self-motivated, good time management.
• Demonstrate critical thinking skills and problem solving.
• Clear written and verbal skills; effective communicator.
• Ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
• Committed to patient-centered, evidence-based care.
• Ability to provide 2SLQBTQIA+ competent care
• Adjust to flexible scheduling including weekends, as needed.
• CFAS Certification of Embryologist, or willing to obtain.
• Qualified for employment in Canada.

Additional Information

Full time, permanent
Weekend rotation: Saturday, Sunday and holidays as needed.

Salary: Negotiable, commensurate with experience.
