Speaker Information:
Dr. Gianpiero D. Palermo
Dr. Gianpiero D. Palermo is a Professor of Embryology in Obstetrics and Gynecology and the Blavatnik Family Professor of Reproductive Medicine at The Ronald O. Perelman and Claudia Cohen Center for Reproductive Medicine of Weill Cornell Medical College. He is board-certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology and in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility from the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology. He is a member of both the American Society of Reproductive Medicine as well as the European Society for Human Reproduction and Embryology. Furthermore, he has been the Director of Assisted Fertilization and Andrology at The Ronald O. Perelman and Claudia Cohen Center for Reproductive Medicine since 1993.
Dr. Hannah Pierson
Dr. Hannah Pierson earned her PhD in Biochemistry at the University of Saskatchewan and completed her Post Doctoral Fellowship in Epithelial Cell Biology at the Johns Hopkins Medical Institute. She is currently a Senior Scientist with Synergyne ART Analytics Inc. Her research interests include advancing the boundaries of biomedical image interpretation technologies, cellular dynamics of endometrium, and the statistical interactions between embryo quality and endometrial receptivity.
Dr. Vardit Ravitsky
Vardit Ravitsky is a Full Professor at the Bioethics Program, School of Public Health, University of Montreal and Senior Lecturer on Global Health and Social Medicine at Harvard Medical School. She is Past-President and currently Vice-President of the International Association of Bioethics. She is the Director of Ethics and Health at the Center for Research on Ethics and holds a Research-Creation Chair on the Re-appropriation of Maternity. She is a 2020 Fellow of the Pierre Elliott Trudeau Foundation and chaired the Foundation’s COVID-19 Impact Committee. She is also a Fellow of the Canadian Academy of Health Sciences and of the Hastings Center. She was member of the CIHR Standing Committee on Ethics for over 6 years and is currently member of the Institute Advisory Board of CIHR’s Institute of Genetics.
